“Grooves” is an experimental animated short film created by Akhil Narayanan in 2021 as a personal project. The film has received more than 13 international animation awards. The character design, backgrounds, animation direction, and compositing were all done solely by Akhil Narayanan. The music was composed by Shine Pulikkal.

Presenting my new work as an individual artist and filmmaker, I consider this my biggest portfolio piece ever.
When I started working on this, I knew it wouldn’t be an easy task to finish everything by myself. I had to spend around six full months working on this project. During that time, I went through multiple emotional breakdowns — and even a few system breakdowns XD. I used the free platform Blender to bring this project to life. And After effects used for the comp and Photoshop for the matte painting.

Just completed a 3D motion graphics animation for Mingler Lifestyle LLP — and yep, it was one wild creative sprint! With a super tight deadline and 6 rounds of refinements (all with their customized design preferences), we still managed to pull it off smoothly. 💪🎯After all, clients do believe we’ve got a special key on our keyboard that magically creates everything in seconds — and that’s our only job, right? 😄🎹 But hey, challenges like these are what keep the passion alive. PLANTO - Animation Shortfilm
“Planto” is an animated short film created by Akhil Narayanan in 2017 as his graduation project under Birmingham City University. The film topped the university evaluations and was awarded the Gold Medal. It has also received 10 international animation awards. The character design, backgrounds, animation direction, and compositing were all created solely by Akhil Narayanan. The music was composed by Shine Pulikkal.

The essence of the film Planto is a poetic homage about the regeneration capacity of nature. The film has won 13 international animation film awards. Also with in 2 years, the film and director got represented India in some major International film festivals like FICMA,PIFSA, IFFSA, Animate etc. in the year 2017 - 2019.
Toothpaste Ad Mascot animation - EDINORA
3D Character Creation – Edinora Toothpaste Mascot
Developed a 3D mascot character for the recent Edinora Toothpaste advertisement, designed and animated entirely in Blender with compositing and finishing in After Effects. The project focused on creating a lively, brand-friendly character that embodies trust, care, and freshness. From modeling and rigging to animation and final polish, the mascot was crafted to meet international advertising standards, delivering a visually appealing and memorable brand identity.
